    What to Expect

The French government has recently announced new regulations to better control the spread of the virus. All people ages 12+ are now required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, or a recent negative test (obtained within the previous 48 hours), to enter non-essential leisure spaces in France. This includes cafes, restaurants, theaters, bars, trains, museums, malls, and more.

As you can see, this new regulation will affect your ability to enter the bars, cafes, and restaurants we visit on our Paris tour, as well as any other leisure spaces you plan to visit during your time in France.

In order to comply with these new legal regulations, your guide will be checking for this information at the start of the tour. If you are unable to provide either of these, we will be unable to run the tour.

You can prove your vaccination status in either of the following ways:
-Via the French TousAntiCovid app, which accepts QR codes from other EU countries
    -With a paper vaccination certificate

Click here to find more information on the requirements in English.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you on tour.

Please note that this description is an example and stops or tastes may vary depending on the season, day of the week, and group size. Regardless of where your tour goes, you always have a delicious experience.

Weave your way through the charming Marais neighborhood, and you’ll see how historical French food is—there is a legend behind every cheese, and there is a story behind every recipe and classic dish. You’ll discover the stories behind every front door, shop window, and in every restaurant and kitchen while meeting the people behind the food and local family-run restaurants. You can expect French classics alongside Jewish delicacies, as well as new twists on patisserie, and of course, traditional eateries! A whistle stop tour of all things French cuisine.

We’ll start the morning in Marais as French as can be with buttery croissants from one of the city’s best-loved bakers. We’ll also try the bakery’s homemade bread, which is different to other bread you’ll find around the city!

Then, no Paris food tour is complete without macarons and chocolate, so our next stop will be to try these sweet treats at a store where the owner has held a prestigious, lifelong quality award since 1986!

Next up, we’ll meet an old friend at a historic market*, famous for his crepes, where we will be trying a particularly special savory variation, made from chickpea flour and originating from the south of France.

After that, we’ll wander down to the Jewish quarter to try some unexpectedly Parisian pastries in a traditional, family-run establishment.

Then, we’ll discover a 99-year-old shop packed full of regional delicacies from every corner of France. We’ll try cured meats and cheese and talk about how the French shop, eat and go about their daily life!

Time for something warm! At the next stop, we’ll enjoy homemade French onion soup in a traditional bistro, where the owner is known for sourcing all his own produce and making everything in house.

Next up, we’ll try some French pastries with a twist—a French Syrian baker marries the flavors of the Middle East and the quality products of France in little “nests” of joy. To continue with the sweet theme, we’ll then try traditional handmade French chocolates. Heaven!

Finally, we’ll hop over to the Ile Saint Louis to finish with a glass of French natural wine!

And as with all Devour Paris tours, your guide will give you a copy of our Devouring Paris guide, which is packed with all our favorite places to eat and drink in the city! So put down your guidebook and get ready to experience Paris like a local!

*Please note that the market is closed on Tuesdays

You’ll taste some of Paris' best local food and gain fascinating insight into the Marais neighborhood. We keep our groups small, and every tour is led by an English-speaking guide who knows Paris like the back of their hand.
You'll discover the Marais neighborhood of Paris, where you'll enjoy 11+ tastes across nine stops. You'll stop at a traditional bakery to taste delicious freshly baked croissaints and French bread. Afterwards you'll visit a market for a tasty snack before heading off to taste delicious pastries in the Jewish Quarter. Then it's time for a stop at a shop that's been around for the last 99 years. Then you'll go to a traditional eatery for a warming bowl of French onion soup before getting to taste more pastries and then delicate homemade chocolates. Finally, you'll finish the tour with French natural wine! All tastes are subject to change based on seasonality and our vendors’ holiday schedules, but we guarantee they’ll always be delicious!
The tour lasts approximately 3.5 hours (give or take 15 minutes). The tour covers approximately 2.5 kilometers (1.5 miles) and there is seating at two stops.
Don’t worry, you won’t be part of a massive crowd following a guide with a flag! We keep our groups small and intimate, so the tour can squeeze into small, hidden places and you get personal time with your guide. The maximum number of guests on this tour is usually 10 people, and we only require a minimum of two people to operate. However, currently our group sizes are much smaller (maximum 6 to 8 people) due to the current pandemic.
We want as many people to be able to enjoy our tours as possible. Scroll up the page a little to see what dietary restrictions this tour is adaptable for.
Families love getting a true taste of Paris together on our Ultimate Paris Food Tour. The tastes are suited to kids and teens.
The tour does not include transport to the meeting place, or from the ending point (ask your guide for guidance at the end of the tour if you’re not sure where you are). Also, please feel free to tip your guide if you think they did a great job! The standard gratuity in the tour industry is 10% to 15%.
Most importantly, your appetite! Keep in mind tours take place rain or shine, so please dress appropriately and bring an umbrella if it looks like rain. Also, we recommend you wear comfortable shoes as you’ll be walking a few kilometers. Finally, while we do serve water on the tour at some stops, we recommend you bring a bottle of water.
Absolutely! We regularly organize private tours for families, groups of friends, and more. Email us your group size, the date you'd like the tour and anything else you'd like us to keep in mind, and we'll get back to you within 24 hours.
