    What to Expect

The French government has recently announced new regulations to better control the spread of the virus. All adults will soon be required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, or a negative test (obtained within the previous 48 hours), to enter non-essential leisure spaces in France. This includes cafes, restaurants, theaters, bars, trains, museums, malls, and more.

    These requirements go into effect:
-July 21 in spaces that hold 50+ people
-August 1 for all other spaces

As you can see, this new regulation will affect your ability to enter the bars, cafes, and restaurants we visit on our Paris tour, as well as any other leisure spaces you plan to visit during your time in France.

In order to comply with these new legal regulations, your guide will be checking for this information at the start of the tour. If you are unable to provide either of these, we will be unable to run the tour.

You can prove your vaccination status in either of the following ways:
-Via the French TousAntiCovid app, which accepts QR codes from other EU countries
    -With a paper vaccination certificate

Click here to find more information on the requirements in English. Minors aged 12–17 are exempt from the new rules until August 30.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you on tour.

Immerse yourself in the world of French food and wine as you explore the off-the-beaten-track neighborhoods around Marché Aligre and the 11th arrondissement. As you hop from wine cellar to bistro to contemporary French restaurant, you’ll try the specialty dishes in each place, from French cheese to snails, pairing each taste with a host of different wines from across the country. As if that wasn’t enough, you’ll do it all while learning about the importance of French food and how to eat better for the rest of your time in the capital!

Start your journey at a lively market bar, where locals jostle for wine poured directly from the barrel. We’ll be sampling rosé – the classic French apéritif! It’s a bar with over 40 years of history – this is a place that feels like you’ve stepped back in time.

Next, you’ll head to a contemporary Parisian wine cellar to sample some sparkling wine and cheese. This place is a real hidden gem – with an all-natural and organic wine list.

You’ll keep on wandering with your guide through the backstreets of the 11th arrondissement. At our next stop, you’ll devour beautiful plates of local and seasonal produce, paired with two different natural, low-intervention wines from small French producers going back to nature.

Last but not least we’re moving on to a traditional bistro for some classic French cuisine. Here the bites are accompanied by a pairing of two different styles of wines. It’s a sauce lover’s paradise and we’ll finish the tour soaking up the atmosphere in this uniquely Parisian bistro – with the owner in the kitchen, of course.

By the end of the night, your guide will have decoded the difference between a brasserie, a bistro and a restaurant, and unveiled the importance of the aperitif in French culture—and you will have experienced it all firsthand!

And as with all Devour Paris tours, your guide will give you a copy of our Devouring Paris guide, which is packed with all our favorite places to eat and drink in the city! So put down your guidebook and get ready to experience Paris like a local on our evening food and wine tasting experience!

Once a working-class neighborhood, now home to some of the best wine bars and restaurants in the city!

Great question! A Devour Paris food tour is a fun, fascinating and (most importantly!) delicious introduction to the city of Paris. Our food tours visit some of the city’s best traditional establishments including bistros, wine bars, brasseries and hidden gems that few even know exist! You’ll taste some of Paris' best local food and gain fascinating insight into the 11th arrondissement. We keep our groups small, and every tour is led by an English-speaking guide who knows Paris like the back of their hand.
The tour lasts approximately 3 hours (give or take 15 minutes). The tour covers approximately 1.5 kilometers (1 mile) and there is seating at three of the four stops.
Don’t worry, you won’t be part of a massive crowd following a guide with a flag! We keep our groups small and intimate, so the tour can squeeze into small, hidden places and you get personal time with your guide. The maximum number of guests on this tour is usually 8 people, and we only require a minimum of two people to operate. However, currently our group sizes are much smaller (maximum 6 to 8 people) due to the current pandemic.
We want as many people to be able to enjoy our tours as possible. Scroll up the page a little to see what dietary restrictions this tour is adaptable for.
Given the wine-focused nature of this tour, it's not available for guests under 18 years old. For families, we suggest our daytime Ultimate Paris Food Tour in the Marais neighborhood.
The tour does not include transport to the meeting place, or from the ending point (ask your guide for guidance at the end of the tour if you’re not sure where you are). Also, please feel free to tip your guide if you think they did a great job! The standard gratuity in the tour industry is 10% to 15%.
Most importantly, your appetite! Keep in mind tours take place rain or shine, so please dress appropriately and bring an umbrella if it looks like rain. Also, we recommend you wear comfortable shoes as you’ll be walking a few kilometers. Finally, while we do serve water on the tour at some stops, we recommend you bring a bottle of water.
Absolutely! We regularly organize private tours for families, groups of friends, and more. Email us your group size, the date you'd like the tour and anything else you'd like us to keep in mind, and we'll get back to you within 24 hours.
